Bo Rangers defeated Old Edwardians 2-0 at the Bo stadium in their opening fixture in the breakaway league on Sunday.

Emmanuel Lamina got the opening goal in the 27th minute and Patrick Binda sealed the scores from the penalty spot in the 90th minute after Old Edwardians were reduced to ten men.

The league formed by eleven out fourteen premier league clubs in Sierra Leone started on Saturday with East End Lions securing a 1-0 win over Kallon FC at the Siaka Stevens stadium in Freetown.

The eleven participating teams are Ports Authority, East End Lions, Mighty Blackpool,  FC Kallon, Old Edwardians, Freetown City Council FC, Gem Stars, Anti Drugs strikers, Central Parade, Bo Rangers and Diamond Stars of Kono.

The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA ) is opposed to the league which will continue next weekend with five matches in five venues in Freetown, Bo and Kono.
