Leone Stars midfielder John Bankole Kamara has insisted that they must win their 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Guinea Bissau at all costs.
The match will take place at the General Lansana Conté stadium in Conakry as the National Stadium in Freetown is currently under renovation.
The group A match will be Leone Stars’ second in the qualifiers after losing to Nigeria’s Super Eagles in Abuja on Thursday.
“Our match against Guinea Bissau should be a must win encounter for us, we must win at all costs,” Kamara told Sierra Leone Football.com.
He added: “The pressure is on us to deliver victory after losing to Nigeria and we’re ready to deliver.
“We didn’t have a bad game in Abuja despite losing. We’ll improve on our performance and get a win in Conakry.
“We’re committed and well determined to lift the country’s flag high.”
The Romania based Kamara featured against Super Eagles but was substituted in the second half.
He’s expected to be in the Leone Stars’ starting XI against Guinea Bissau who are on top of the group after thrashing Sao Tome & Principe at home 5-1 on Thursday.
Guinea Bisssau are equal in points with Nigeria but lead on goal difference.Sierra Leone are third while Sao Tome & Principe are at the bottom.
The top two teams at the end of the qualifiers will go through to the finals in Ivory Coast
