Leone Stars may face the Flames of Malawi in an international friendly match in Freetown on March 21 ahead of their two games against Gabon.

Sierra Leone Football.com understands that the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) is working towards having the match at the Siaka Stevens stadium but arrangements are yet to be finalised.

Already players have been invited for the proposed friendly match with Malawi and the games against Gabon’s Azingo Nationale.

The matches with Gabon are on the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying schedule but no points are on offer as the central African country is hosting January’s finals.

Malawi on the other hand will use the friendly as a warm up match for their AFCON group L qualifying tie against Guinea’s Syli Nationale in Conakry on March 25.

Leone Stars are currently bottom of group I in the AFCON qualifiers behind Sudan and African champions Ivory Coast.

Sierra Leone’s next competitive match in the qualifiers is against Sudan on home soil on June 3.
