Striker Ibrahim Teteh Bangura says he feels good and delighted to join Swedish second tier league club GAIS after sealing a deal with the Göteborg based club on Friday.

The 26-year old Sierra Leonean international signed a short-term contract till the summer with an option to extend it if he performs well.

He has been unveiled with number 20 jersey and has already starting training with his new club.

“First of all I want to say thanks to God for the move. I feel good and happy for opportunity to play for GAIS,” Bangura told Sierra Leone

He added: “This move means a lot to me because I have been out for some time now and I haven’t got a good pre-season but I’m going to have a good pre-season now.”

‘My main motive is to work hard to regain my form i had with AIK in 2011. I want to prove myself.

Sweden is not a strange place for me again. I always respect the leagues because they are tough.”

The former FC Kallon striker have will have to fight for starting place as GAIS have recently signed new attackers.
“I like to compete. I’ll work very hard to win a starting place in the team.”
‘I’m looking forward to a good season.”

GAIS coach Benjamin Westman is hoping that Bangura will do well. He said: “Bangura is a player who knows where the goal is and I like his style of play.”

“He is very much right on target. Shoot with both left and right feet and likes to go deep.”

“I sincerely hope that we can get him up to the level he possesses. Then this could be good.”

Bangura excelled when he was playing for AIK Stockholm in 2011 alongside fellow countryman Mohamed Bangura scoring 15 goals in 17 appearances before he was sold to Turkish top flight league club Bursaspor.

He started well at Bursaspor netting few goals but faded out quickly mainly due to injuries and was subsequently loaned to another Turkish club Sanliurfaspor, Beitar Jerusalem of Israel and AIK before his contract was terminated on mutual consent in 2014.

Bangura last played for Swedish second tier league club Mjällby last year .
