All Conquering Leone Stars 1995
Leone Stars versus Nigeria in Freetown in 1987 in the 1988 African Cup of Nations second round second leg qualifying match.
Leone Stars won 2-0 with goals from John Dumbuya and Saidu 'Tibati' Kanu but had lost the first leg encounter in Lagos 3-0.
John Dumbuya even missed a penalty that would have sent the match to a penalty shoot out.
If Leone Stars had crossed Nigeria they would qualified for their first Nations cup finals in Morocco 1988.
Leone Stars eliminated Liberia in the Preliminary round and Ghana in the first round before facing Nigeria.
